I have 16" on mine too same size tyres. 9J wheels. When I had cerbie wheels on there I had spacers - about 5-6mm. However with the OZ's I have no spacers.
It is a bit tight between the tie rod and the tyre bulge but you can get a few fag papers in there. The tanks are a little further in so the gap is bigger. I suppose with this closeness you don't want any extra play in the bearings or bushes or else under cornering it might start to rub.
In my case I don't want to add spacers either because if the wheels come outwards there will then be rubbing on the wheel arches especially the nearside one in my case - in fact I took the angle grinder to the wheel arch for some relief there and also jacked up the body a little so the nearside two finger gap matches the offside one. Also added better bump stops in the nearside shock absorber to minimise any more rubbing there under compression.
Standard 15" on the front and no rubbing.

Haven't had any rubbing at all from the 16 x 9 wheels OZ rims all round on my car fitted a couple of years back, and that includes touring with luggage and trackdays. I use the same size tyres all round, although to avoid getting the gearing too far out, I run 225 45 16 tyres. No spacers needed, and the closest point of contact is the lower wishbone end to rim (not tyre), but no scrapes with the use described above.
Yeah the difference seems to be the tyre width - the 245's bulging out further become the nearest potential rubbing point. In my case I found the gearing improved and my speedo is now spot on instead of a few % over. So I guess the odometer has been similarly corrected (now 7000 limited miles isn't 200 miles short).
Hi just a little update on the 16x9's on the rear.... Well they fit as Wyn said they are close but on the test run no evidence of any rubbing either on the arch or lower wishbone !!! While I had the wheels of I took the opportunity to adjust the new Gaz shock as they were on the lowest setting... I set the rears from 0 up to 16 clicks and the fronts from 0 up to 18 clicks ! All I can say is Wow what a difference, although when they were set on their lowest setting it was very comfortably the feeling it gave was very vague but now very responsive, just how it should be !!
Anyway here's a couple of pics to show them on the car ...
