Any one thinking of going to Park Lane to see the C6 that car has gone it was only on loan for a few days, I was told there should be one there in the New Year.

C6s don't hang around long! What did they have in there - an XLR? I've not spotted one in this country yet and will be interested to see if it sells, given no LHD car has sold well before. I'd have thought the pricing needs to be sensible to shift any at all so will be interested to see if the price difference between Vette and XLR will be as big in UK as it is in USA. I think the XLR is likely to depreciate much quicker than the Vette so the ownership proposition as a new purchase could be fairly alarming! Maybe it'll just sell to wealthy foreigners in the West End.

Sorry do not know what the XLR looks like but there where 3 other cars in the showroom, the C6 was on loan from Holland, what away to launch a new car, even if they could only get a US spec car that would make more sense, but I could not even get a brochure out of GM Europe or the US for my 2004, I was told there was a lot of interest in it and being almost next to the Aston Martin showroom you had two very different super cars.

I can do better than that; went past Park Lane last night with my camera,

Must say no C6 but XLR looks good, also notice the C6 wall display brochures, paint and leather samples, looks like it will be back.

Thanks for the pics - how do I get them on here?

I saw the XLR at LM, it looks okay, but I think it's bold sharp edge styling may date quickly.

Is the showroom the old one that used to have the Mclaren F1 (road car) in?

I think the XLR is a beautiful car; I remember seeing the Cadillac "Cien", which the XLR takes its styling cues from.

In car parks these days full of Merc SLs and the like, this pretty lil Caddy really would stand out.

Oh, and it's built in Bowling Green, alongside (and using the same floorpan - am I right?) as the C5. Which can't be bad

I'd be quite happy for them to depreciate alot - I'll get one. I just can't bring myself to go topless in a 'vette

There's an event called Supercar Heaven at The Racing Car Show NEC Birmingham 13-16 January 2005 featuring both the C6 and the SRT/10.

Ticket Hotline is 0870 902 0444

Sadly, I'll be on holiday in India while it's on. Typical!

Yes it is built at Bowling Green, but it actually has the same floor plan as the C6 not the C5.

Which leaves you wondering how a Corvette with a Northstar V8 and a different cabin could cost 50% more. Very good question.
