why would Horst von Saurma prefer a 3.8RS over a 4.0RS

Just read through the thread on the front page.
Why would Horst von Saurma's weapon of choice be the 3.8RS over the 4.0RS.
I have not driven either so I have no comment.
But for you guys that have why would this be ?

Good experiences with it - perhaps the Nurburgring 24hrs race?

I like 2CV's - although that was down to the slightly more elite, Snetterton 24Hrs race.
