Compact camera under £100

Never realised there was such an active photography forum on here despite being a member for a number of years.
I'm off on holiday next week, missus is keen we get a digital camera as she doesn't think photos on our smartphones are good enough. Any thoughts? There is a huge amount of choice out there. Am I really going to get pics much better than my iPhone 5s?
It needs to be small and light so we actually take it out and about with us. Guess I could stretch to £150...

Most sub £100 compact cameras will be little better than a phone. One notable exception is this little fuji: http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/cameras/digital-camer...
