Anyone taken this? What's the ground clearance like for a fairly low car? (Lowered BMW Z4M Roadster)

Was over last September was not too bad lowered Vxr8,think if you call ahead they assist with loading

Out of interest, how far in advance to the crossing did you have to arrive?

My lowered ST220 made it just. It was bad for clearance though as there was a fair distance between front wheels and its nose.

Another vote for calling ahead. They'll get you on without issue (either first or last)

It's usually 45 mins before departure one needs to arrive, though the smaller ones will be 30. It'll tell you on the website.

Just in case anyone does a search in the future for the same question.....

I got the ferry on Friday from Armsdale to Mallaig. Absolutely no problems, perhaps it was a high tide, but the ramp angles were pretty slack, almost flat as you can see below. As discussed above, the staff were really helpful and friendly and put me on last just in case I needed assistance. I was surprised how big the vessel was for such a short crossing! Had a great summer solstice drive, 576 miles in one day, 12 hours behind the wheel, loved it! Already planning next years drive

The ferry crosses the Sound of Sleat which is completely exposed to the south west. Not unusual for the ferry to be off.

I am slightly apprehensive about taking my Evora across it, but looks like I'll be OK.

Lovely part of the world. We stay at Kinloch from time to time as we like the food and the dog friendliness! Re the pic, I was lucky that morning as the light was pretty much perfect. I have (as always) added some highlight and shadow to get the 3D back into the photo... Cameras are RUBBISH at that, flattening everything with impunity. Not a lot else.
