Sometimes you just know things aren't going to go your way.

For several reasons I have just not had time to use the 996in the last four weeks so as we are going away again I thought it should ally try to give the old girl a good run out today

Started fine but within 2 miles the car was starting to run rough and the check engine light was flashing

Having read so many dark tales on here regarding RMS/IMS and associated issues I have assumed the worst but on calling my local specialist and explaining the symptoms, they are quite confident that it is a coil pack breakdown and water ingress issue following the torrential rain we had this week. I will be hugely relieved but still expensive as using man logic I thought well whilst it is in I will have the suspension done, service etc.....

I just hope it is this - the funny thing is that I seem to be buying the car little upgrades and presents akin to offerings to an ancient god in the vain hope that it will look kindly on me and not grenade it's engine - anyone else this superstitious as well?

Make it an offering of a low temp thermostat and 12 monthly oil change
Then drive it regularly and quit worrying ffs.
