Found this pic online - any more info?

Hi,
The caption said it was a crash at Southend Airport in the 60's and was due to brake failure.

My Uncle lived in Southend and most of his life but can't seem to recall it (then again he's in his 80's).

Any more info gratefully received. Also, what kind of Plane is it, and did it ever fly again?.

Wow! PH Comes through again!.

Thanks for the replies, Also glad to see there were no fatalities, and it says the Aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Bad enough crashing, but ending up coming to rest on a Main Railway line must really make an already bad day into a worse one.

Edit* I see the line is electrified as well. Poor pilot must have thought his time was up.
