Tom Hartley Jnr goes it alone
Discussion
I am not sure I get this. I have just seen a full page add in this months Motor Sport magazine for TH Jnr new venture. It appears he has split from his father and brother and is setting up his own dealership in Derbyshire. According to the add he is going to specialise even more on the classics market place but will still sell modern luxury cars. Seems he wants to ride the classics market before the bubble bursts.
What is even odder is that his website is www.tomhartleyjnr.com which really stands him apart from his fathers business which is www.tomhartley.com Not!!
Now I know TH Jnr is a divisive character as has been born out by many threads on here. But why start another business that appears on the surface to be a replica of his fathers, am I missing something?? Are they not just going to be chasing exactly the same customers??

I don't really know the company or the ins and outs behind this, but having worked for my dad for the past 10 years I can easily see how this sort of thing happens
Just had a glance at the website - doesn't seem to be active, the only link is to his twitter page - some interesting language used on there and not what I would imagine would present a professional image at all - perhaps I'm just completely out of touch and the "F" and "C" words are what's required to launch a business nowadays !
As far as I understand it, tom snr has been doing his other project mainly the park homes business
Tom jnr and Karl do the cars
Perhaps it's to concentrate on the higher end as tom jnr seemed to be dealing more in enzo's and classics of late. There was a list of "significant sales" under the classic section which was impressive.

He is 30 years old and has "nearly 20 years of experience and passion". Quite a claim!
He didn't go to school and sold his first Porsche at the age of 10/11 I think!Mr Gearchange said:

I wouldn't think that I'm far wrong in suggesting he's from the University of Live rather then the traditional way of learning and has probably successful because of it.
I'm guessing you too attended the 'University of Live' to read English? The cars that Tom Jnr has sold over the past few years is amazing. He seems to be specialising in real bluechip investments (60s Ferraris, Mercedes Gullwings etc) while Tom Snr seems to sells your run-of-the-mill supercars.
They are also practically next to each other according to Google Maps. No idea, but maybe they have just decided to go their own way.
