Selling a record collection, vee jay white label value?
Discussion
Hi there
I'm hoping someone here knows about record valuations, or a good place to seek advice please?
I'm selling an extensive record collection on behalf of a relative & some of the LPs look pretty rare to me & usual searches confirm this, but I cant get an idea of value for some. Its a very varied mix, these ones have me stumped (similar on Ebay USA seem to go for around $200)...
All of these are VJ (Vee Jay) records, stamped Disc Jockey Copy Not For Sale, all with White label Disc Jockey Advance Sample.
Sleeves showing signs of wear, vinyl VG
True Convictions The Original Blind Boys Of Alibama VJ5048
The Best Of The Harmonising Four VJ5050
The Best Of the Highway QCs VJ5051
The Best Of The Swan Silvertones VJ5052
Garden Of Prayer Reverend Maceo Woods VJ5053
I'm sure the white label & Disc Jockey Copy makes them rare?
I said it was varied, lots of Country / Heavy Rock, 60s Beatles etc too..

Have a look on www.discogs.com.
Thanks, did look at thatThere are 1000+ records in the collection & I have about finished going through what others have actually sold for on auction sites etc.
A few are in the hundreds so I'll sell those myself (Limited edition Bruce Springsteen LP sets/ Beatles & other 60s MONO/ lots of rare country stuff from USA/ DJ samples from 60s etc.)
The rest are pristine but lower values so I think I'll sell to a dealer for a fair price rather than the aggro of selling...
