Sony RX100 Mk3 now on Sony's UK website.
Discussion
I was going to reply to your other thread regarding the MKIII as a MKI owner.
My guesstimate was that the MKIII was going to be £600-£800.
My reasoning is that the MKIII is not a replacement model, they were segmenting the market based on price, somewhat in the same way the MKII has been sold along with the MKI.
What Sony are achieving with relatively fast development is not replacement models, but additional models as after the MKI they realised they were very much onto a good thing.
So, for your £350 or so, you can have the excellent MKI which is the best in it's class for a small camera. If you have a bit more cash, you can go for the MKII and get better low light performance - a bit of a bugbear for the MKI IMHO.
However, if you are a bit of a money no object flash Harry who must have portability, then you won't bat an eyelid at the MKIII - better IQ from the lens, and the EV so you look like a real photographer as oppose to a point and shooter.

I was in Edmonton, Canada today and I found Sony store with pretty much everything possible from Sony in stock like Rx1 AND Rx1r BOTH available
etc
They were just about to receive today their first Rx100 mk3 at 950cad inclusive of tax which works out £520 and I was going to buy it but it was just a demo and they couldn't sell it

We get shafted so much!I defo want a Mk3 as I barely use my DSLR now due to being so satisfied with my Mk1 since I bought it, I just always wanted the focal length touch wider as street/city/landscape is my thing.
I also shoot a lot in the evenings and at night so the backlit sensor is also a big plus for me.
I wonder what the price will be from places like DigitalRev? Or I might just hang on till I go to the US in a couple of months..

I've bought a lot of things on my foreign travels and brought them home with me... Not sure that is smuggling is it?!
Oh no.But if you purchase something on your foreign travels for the express purpose of bringing it back and selling in in your home country without paying duty, then that's pretty much the definition of smuggling!

Shocking. I'm a criminal. But if you purchase something on your foreign travels for the express purpose of bringing it back and selling in in your home country without paying duty, then that's pretty much the definition of smuggling!

I might have to add up how much I owe the government then, seen as how friends have previously purchased for me:
A few bottles of vodka.
A Sony Discman in about 1994.
A Sony Minidisc Walkman in about 1997.
A pair of Oakley sunglasses in about 1999.
And loads of stuff I've forgotten...
All joking aside, I would happily pay someone to but me one abroad given the price discrepancy
