I need some help! After 7 years of restoration my Facel Vega HK500 is MOT'd and booked on the ferry to go to the Facel Vega 60 year rally on Friday. My problem is I'm trying to get the car registered with the DVLA but they have now informed me that they do not recognise the Facel Vega club in terms of the V765 form. They will accept a signature from an official from ANY recognised car club. I am in Dorset but the car is at the restorers in Shepherds Bush. I have all documentation, history, pictures etc. I have added a couple of pictures below before the car was finished and I will post some more hopefully from Reims? Can anybody help?

Hi Adam,
V765 is to register under its original UK number, this is what you are trying to achieve? If so, view form V765/1, this will list the clubs that are acceptable, there are a couple of generic non marque related ones who will be able to fulfil the V765 request. The last time I did this I used the Delage club if my memory serves me but the VSCC can do it.
Have you checked to see if the number is still in circulation? If so you can just apply for the V5 and it will arrive. Call me if you are having DVLA related stress.

Help, I'm still trying to get somebody recognised as an official from a recognised car club to sign the V765 form. Can anybody travel to Shepherds Bush next to Westfield to have a look at the Facel or possibly take a view on it? Big thank you to Chris for all of his assistance so far. Please also have a look at the new Facel Vega web site. It's now live, we just need some new members now?

The DVLA are probably looking for a Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs registered club.

Contact the FBHVC to see who they suggest: http://www.fbhvc.co.uk/contact-us/

No, they're after a club on the V765 list. They don't much care which clubs pay the FBHVC membership fees.
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploa...

Clubs have a number of authorised people, who are the only ones who can sign off applications. They might not be the same as the people listed as contact addresses, so don't necessarily go by who's geographically closest...

I might have an idea... I'll send you a PM.

Hi Threadman,

No I wasn't able to get the silver car there but we did take the black HK. The only issue was that we lost all the brakes and used the Mercedes in front to stop us. The big downside was that he had a towbar on it. His car was OK but mine was like a harpooned whale. I'm exaggerating a little! It wasn't so bad but meant the car came back on a transporter. Strangely I started a thread on here in 2011 about a mystery Facel 11. It turned out to be Freddy's car and we rode home with him after Reims. We should be driving the silver car about next week. This week is LeMans! Nigel could we arrange to get those parts back please. I know you have kept them safe for me.
