Hi All,

I am after some advice on how to deal with this current situation which I am really annoyed. I had a red warning triangle and emission warning come up on the dash board several weeks ago and my db9 volante went into the dealer on a flatbed and was promptly returned the next day with a replaced ECU in the wheel arch. went to drive it again and it wouldn't go into park, with a whole host of new errors around gear box service and I noticed some oil on the floor of the garage.

again back off on the flatbed to the dealer where it has been for 6 weeks to date and an anticipated 2 weeks more. Why ? it needed some oil pipes for the gearbox, which were ordered on backorder and took 3 weeks to arrive, and when they did, they were the wrong ones... so now I am stuck with the computer system at the dealer saying "backorder" with no delivery date and just guesses when the arrival date will be.

I was also having a service done at the same time which is over £1000.

How would you handle this, I am inclined to not pay for the service, bearing in mind I have paid £2000 in installments for the car to sit in their premises or probably outside, the car had just been detailed for the summer and it will probably be wrecked after being sat outside all this time, and their local valet guys gets his hands on it I am dreading seeing it again as it left looking like a mirror.....

It's turning into a bit of a nightmare, the tax will expire whilst they have it etc... and I have had no offer of a courtesy car or anything. I only drive the car in the summer and I am missing out on what little sun this country gets...

what would your approach be here ?

If it's with an official AM delaership, I would take it up with AM directly. The fact that they can't supply simple parts like fluid lines is unacceptable. You haven't said how old the car is or if it's still under warranty etc, but it really shouldn't make any difference.

This is the car's first MOT and under full warranty it baffles me how the mistake happened in the first place, I still havent got an answer to that and I agree with you why it takes so long to get some oil pipes for a gearbox....

I assume the dealer has provided you with another DB9 or a DBS until yours is repaired.

My Recently purchased Ferrari California has been in the garage 3 weeks now. The dealer sent me a brand new Maserati Grand cabrio sport to use until mine is fixed.

I feel for both you and the dealer here. I'm sure the dealer wants to return a fixed car to a happy customer as fast as possible. But if dealer cant get parts from mothership, then it mothership to blame not the dealer. It is becoming really common to have to wait for parts which are on back order, never really used to be the case in recent years. The process of why car was first delivered on flat bed, returned and then a breakdown due to issues which must have been present when the car first went in doesn't sound right to me though.

If the car is under warranty what have they charged you £2000 for?
I think he means he has a car loan and that is what his payments have totaled while the car is in for repairs. He never said he was paying the dealer.

If the cars out of warranty I'd be looking at an alternative supplier (especially on hoses)

^^^^ Owner specifically stated that it's under full warranty.
