While at the Hotel de France this weekend, I found this lovely 962 lurking behind the Hotel. Apparently 3 962's will be driven away from the Hotel on Thursday morning to the circuit. Just as the 917 Gulf did many years ago Derek Bell is known to be driving one of them.

Hmmm, good work! Hoping (assuming we're there by Thursday AM!) to take a mate across to the HdF, so that'll make a nice plan...

I guess I should have also mentioned, that while I was at Le Chartre it was more than a rumour that Dario Franchitti will be in residence at the Hotel de France.

That won't be a problem as the cars are off to the circuit for the Legends Race.

Great to see Martin's 962 at the Hotel de France ready for the run up to the circuit on the Thursday before raceday. Couldn't resist posting @SpeedChillsView editor Jamie Snelling at the wheel smile

On Thursday morning at 1000, a little bit of history is been re-enacted, three Porsche 962's will leave from in front of the Hotel de France in La Chartre, one driven by Le Mans legend Derek Bell, a second by a surprise guest, the cars will go out of the town for a few kilometres under escort, following the D304, the Route du Mans. The same route the Le Mans teams drove the race cars on right up until 1970.
