You used to be able to get some shallower ramps from Moss (www.moss-shop.co.uk), an MX-5 parts and accessories retailer.
The ramps were called Rhino ramps, I think. I would have got some for my MX but they were pretty expensive, especially when compared with the price of normal ramps.

I had a compact hydraulic lifter a few years ago. It was meant to be pushed under a car and then the lifting pads were positioned to lift via a remote hydraulic control box operated by 2 levers.
Unfortunately TVR's are too low and i had to fabricate 2 ramps to adapt to the lifter.
It worked quite well but you had to be very careful about positioning the C of G.
One day i was stripping out the interior of the Vixen with it up on the ramps and i climbed into the back altering the centre of gravity. Next thing the car with me in it is tilting backwards and sliding into the back of the garage wall.
Needless to say i sold it soon after and bought a 4 poster.
