Mechanical to electrical speedometer.

I currently have a 1999 original mechanical speedometer which reads from my 6 speed manual gearbox. To change this to an elcrtical setup, would I need an adpater out of the gearbox like this - http://caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=...
Then what else, obviously the speedometer and a plug to go into the back. Would it only need live and a earth and then two wires from the gearbox sender to display the reading or is there much more to it than that?
