Treated myself to one of these but can I get it to work properly? Nope. Could anyone help please??

1) I do what the instruction says (hold down Menue button) but I cannont get the backlight on. It flashes on occasionally when i try this but goes straight off again. Yes I have checked the light time on settings menu and it is set to 20 seconds at the moment.

2) Is the wheel button supposed to be super sensitive? The menu and play buttons respond to a click, but the forward and backwards ones dont. They respond to the lightest stroke of my finger in a clockwise or anti-clockwise (depending on what menu I want to access).

Any help would be greatful

1) If you've double checked the backlight set up in settings, I'd say it's faulty. Just pressing anything, taking it off hold or even plugging headphones in wakes mine up and lights the display.

Have you tried doing a general reset on the thing (hold down the middle button and "menu" at the same time for a few seconds until the unit goes off and you get an Apple logo. Takes a few seconds to come back.

2) You should have to click it (not just brush it). Just brushing it while the music is playing should adjust the volume.

Again, a reset might sort it.

Note that a reset as described does not wipe it clean.

If that doesn't fix it, I'd return it.
