350 Potential 'Barn Find'
Discussion
Friend of a friend has stumbled across a rather dilapidated 350. It has not been run since 2003 and for the last 3 years has been outside - Roof needs replacing for the start of what is probably a long list...
Two questions:
Any idea on value?
Is it worth taking it on to make work/restore?
Thanks Guys as TVR is not my area of knowledge (Apart from lusting over a 450SEAC years ago!)

Really will depend on how bad it's condition is, importantly..the chassis. If that's solid, & mechanics are ok..it's all just cosmetics, say around £1500 - £2k? Perhaps less if carpets etc.. have mushrooms growing!! Very nice 350i's can go for £6000.. prices for good cars do seem to be firming up.
Like any project though, there are always hidden costs so..there maybe little or no profit to be made. It's all about for the love of it!
Any pics, would be easier to guesstimate value?
What year is it?

I "stumbled" across something similar 12 months ago.
If you like getting your hands dirty it's great, but and it's a big BUT, it will cost you more to do than you think it will. Keep this in mind when you're thinking about the price. That will depend on if your considering selling up when it's done of course.
Mine had a solid chassis (without that you'd be bloody brave to take it on), an ok interior and it ran (but wasn't really a runner). I've had to replace all hoses, HT leads, Dizzy cap, Coil, Rad, track rod end, calipers and many other bits and bobs, as well as changing all fluids. It's just about there now and will hopefully be at BBWF at the weekend.
Based on current market value I'd make a tiny, tiny profit if I sold it now, but I've enjoyed it all (mostly).

As said for a Diy project it's will be ok, but you won't make a profit, esp, if you need to get much 3rd part work done.
even if the chassis is ok and it runs, most of the bolts will be seised, and may need cutting out, other will just snap when removing.
If it was an SE it's worth saving, but at current prices, the 280's and 350's are not currently worth saving

Not if you think you're going to get rich quick they're not... good job we're not all into our hobby for a fast buck
Was just being realistic esp. as he was asking about value, also pointed out if you want to do it for fun then go for it.

I bought a 350i that hadn't been run in a similar amount of time, it looked a bit tatty but a fairly simple fix, but these things never are...
I don't think mine will ever be worth much, but I'm really enjoying working through the "to do" list!
If you have the time / space and inclination go for it!

Is the one on ebay that has appeared.
Sorry I don't know how to do links.
It has currently reached £730 with a comment that is will be offered to enthusiasts by Thursday and removed for the right offer ?
I would be interested but I've already got one that needs loads of work when I get the chance.
