Has anyone got any good stories of hard to find ones? I remember when younger (very geekily) trying to find one in Halo which involved literally, jumping through hoops to get some stupid mask or something. It was well hidden though and quite fun to work through.

The current GTA5 has hundreds of people still searching for a jetpack which they are convinced exists..

This one though in Trials Fusion, takes the prize I think;

http://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/270e0y/the...

The crux of it is (from reddit) -

In the game trials fusion, there is a trophy/achievement called the 5th key.

To get the achievement, one must find the 5th key in the video game itself, which is located inside of some mountain that can be found by using the track editor.

Some experts noticed morse code sounds in the video game. Using spectral analysis, they deciphered the code. It took them to a website which then then took them to something else and from there something else.

It was an incredibly long trail of pictographs, math formulas, etc.

When they finally deciphered the final riddle, they were given 4 different longitude latitude coordinates leading to 4 cities around the world, including Sydney and San Fransisco. When the experts went to these coordinates, they found actual treasure chests.

Inside the treasure chests were keys, as well as a note. The note reads, "in the year 2113, one of the 5 keys will open a chest underneath the eiffel tower."

Now as it is probable that all 4 key holders will be dead by that time, they will more then likely have had to pass it down to a family member. Also, no note on where the 5th key is. Hence the trophy title, the 5th key. It could be that this is all just an alloborate setup, and that maybe if you change the year on your counsel to 2113 and find the 5th key in the game, something crazy will happen. Or it could be that this is entirely true, and theres 1 more key located somewhere in the world, as well as a treasure chest with contents unknown, waiting to be discovered under the eiffel tower in 99 years.

Slightly ridiculous but I bet some people will be driven crazy trying to work it out hehe

Wowsers, I thought all the stuff for the Battlefield assignments was involved, but that takes it to another level entirely.

That's brilliant, but I'd bet the farm that in 2113 there's no chest linked to a 100 year old computer game, but I'll be long dead.

I followed one of them on GTA5 it takes some doing but in the end I did see a ghostly figure who sort of explains who killed her which is a story that sort of runs in the background of the main game - tbh it didn't mean much to me, I'm doing busy shooting the place up and doing burnouts to notice some subtle backstory.

There will no doubt be a jetpack at some point, but all those kids obsessing about the map on the top of the mountain... it's been long solved AFAIK, it's not a map of the interior of the mountain, but shows the location of hidden weapons on the top quarter of the map.

GTA is always good for these. I remember the ghost car in San Andreas that would roll down the hill at night with nobody driving in the forests of Back O Beyond. The recent Battlefield 4 Megalodon was pretty interesting to follow.
