Has anyone got a 2003 era Honda Legend?

Looking at a new barge to waft me into that London every day. spotted an 03 legend 3.5 V6 for buttons, thought it might work.

I wouldn't say they are rubbish but they are rather bland compared to Mercs and BMWs of that era. Probably won't go wrong though!

Whilst it's possible that the car you are looking at is/was the only Honda Legend sold in 2003, the old jap barges are bargains if they are driven within their limitations. I'd imagine that a Legend would be a good wafter, reliable (as long as you could suck up the fuel economy), albeit lacking a little in character - although a complete lack of marque image could be viewed as actually being quite cool - like a Dacia Duster.....

I want a bargain barge that won't let me down - it has to be a leftfield choice really.

Any views from owners, or alternatively, what else should I consider with a £2,500 budget, with excellent reliability and barge-ity the only requirements...Lexus LS400 came into view but much older than the legend at this budget

It will probably out live you. I imagine expensive on tax and fuel, but utterly, utterly reliable.

Let's think outside the box here, people.

2003 Hyundai XG30 for a grand, and put the other 1500 quid in the red wine fund.

Pros:

Younger, less miles, wafty V6, all the toys, moo, probably comfy

Cons:

Your wife and kids won't get in it.

Come to think of it, maybe that's a pro.

I had a 185k 01 Legend, it still felt new and was oh so bland.

Handling- Bland

Looks- Bland

Interior- Had all the kit but hid it well, bland

Engine- Not quick, didn't sound good, bland.

I liked it, I had an E38 740 Xj8 and Ls400 around the same time which were all better really.

But a Jaaaag Instead.

Properly left-field choices there.

Ive had a look at Legends before, they do bland very well and imho you could do worse to fit your brief.

I would personally have a GS300 or an LS, but they are far from left-field.

My old man had a 2.2 Camry as a company car back in about 98-99. I remember it being stunningly 'competent'.

Have you considered a 'left-field' 4x4? If your considering a 3000cc+ saloon, surely you could waft just as well with similar fuel bills and a commanding driving position to boot for your budget?

That's seriously overpriced. Worth a grand on a good day, because nobody wants them.
