So I pulled my 4.2 out of the garage after 4 years working away. New battery and she fired up, just needed both door and boot solenoids replacing.

After replacing the boot one and messing around for ages trying to get the alignment and the gaps just right (including a fair amount of time inside the boot looking for gaps) we discovered that the latch is faulty. You can lock the bar in place and simply pull it open.

I've read all 18 pages of the equivalent parts list and there is nothing on there.

Anyone know where the latch mechanism comes from.

thanks

It's off a mk2 ford escort but you have to cut a bit off the mounting bracket to get it to fit.

Thanks mate, had to fabricate a whole new mount for the existing one because someone had slammed the bootlit and the carbon fibre it was mounted on was snapped on one side.

Appreciate the info!!!
