Morning Chaps,

Has anyone had any dealings with Hastings Direct? They're coming out cheapest across all price comparison websites & before I call Sky back to discuss brokering a policy...are Hastings Direct reputable? I've googled their reviews and they come back as pretty mixed.

I was quoted by Sky for £720 pre-discount and Hastings Direct came back at £640 where Admiral (current insurer) came back with £664 after every possible discount.

All with an excess of around £4/500

Used them a few years back.

I found they like to keep you hanging on the line with the usual "Due to unprecedented demand all our operators are busy" for at least 10 minutes, (on a chargable number of course if you need to ring them for anything but being a new customer)

Also find any excuse to charge you if you have to change your policy even slightly. I ended up paying out for something which they had screwed up.

They were cheap, but the customer service showed why

My wife's with them, i told her i would give her extra to go with a.n other, having had to phone them and being kept waiting, then never answering our query i am dreading the day we have to use them.
