991 GT3 Real Weight
Discussion
Porsche says 1430kg unladen weight (DIN) or 1505kg (EG).
What is exactly it's weight and what does it include? I would like to know if any of these weights include the steel brakes (or PCCB) and the clubsport option (cage+buckets). Weightwise the rest of optional equipment is not that important I assume.
My build is clubsport, front lift, standard tank, tracking prep. What is going to be the weight of this car??
I was supprised when I weighted my E92 M3 DKG. With me (90kg) and half of the tank the car weighted 1710kg! Was suppose to weight close to 1630kg.
Another question that if anyone of you is able to answer is a HERO is that if I order Porsche Tracking Preparation + Front Axle Lift the battery will be extra+extra heavier or just extra heavier? With just the front lift alone the battery is bigger. Same for the Porsche tracking. The battery is also bigger. What if I get the lift PLUS the tracking? How heavier the battery is compared to a bare GT3's battery?
Thanks!

not possible to answer any of that, just weigh yours when you get it and tell us.
shame all the tech adds weight to the GT3 as I find on B roads weight is the enemy no matter what the tech.
pats last of the Porsche lightweights at 1250kgs ;-)
Both the M3 and the 350Z just failed on B roads big time but both have got rave review in the past and are said to be top of their game at the time, I kept both 2 months each !!!!! neither worked at all on UK B roads. but then nor does any GT3 !!!
lets hope the 991 fairs better for UK road use. and not just in the land of nod.

A PH'er (bigmowley I think) who has/had one put his on some corner weight scales some time ago. Came in quite high compared to the manufacturer claimed weight if I remember correctly but the factory car was probably outfitted with all lightweight options and not a lot of standard options (possibly no aircon/nav etc) which most customer cars are going to be carrying.

I swear your cars get lighter every time you post. Are bits falling off them?Joking aside, is that an actual weight (i assume for your boxster) or are you guesstimating?
1250kg would seem to be lighter than the Porsche quoted weights for both the boxster and cayman which were 2811 lbs (1278kg) and 2855 lbs (1298kg) IIRC. Given that Porsche fill the cabin with helium prior to weighing (or some other trickery) I have literally never seen a stock car weigh less than its quoted weights.
You should know more than me on this of course, i assume you are on planet 9 etc but what are these actually hitting the scales at. The few I have seen on scales have all been comfortably in the 2900lbs (1318kg) ; with some north of 3000lbs (1364kg).

You what? my scooby forester weighs around 1550kg with me in and is great fun down the twisties, id imagine the Evo and normal Scoobies would be equally as good/fun and weigh around the same. The enemy of any B-Road blaster is surely how compliant the cars suspension is set up?shame all the tech adds weight to the GT3 as I find on B roads weight is the enemy no matter what the tech.
I think you need driving lessons tbh

we would all be better off with driver training, to say you don't need any would be foolish.I think you need driving lessons tbh
fun and going fast don't link hand in hand, you can have fun at 50 mph does not say it can do 130 down the fosse way though.

it does get lighter as I take stuff out and been swapping bits,Joking aside, is that an actual weight (i assume for your boxster) or are you guesstimating?

I don't carry the roof, I have swapped the battery to a race one, ti exhaust, PCCB ;-), and removed all the s

I'll get it weighed when I have my next geo for you :-) so yes a est figure based on Porsche figures, but it's one of the lightest SPyder out there :-)
If I put in some Carbon race seats over the Porsche buckets it would take it down a fair few more KG's
Porsche buckets still weight a ton. If I sprint it next year it will have Carbon race seats if allowed in my class.

If you hadnt of sold your 96'3 youd have been promoted to the realms of driving demi-god and wouldnt need lessons.
p.s. do you not 'speed' down country lanes because your cars not fast enough, hence the weight reduction

The B roads where you are then must be different to the B roads where I am.....mind you, Yorkshire Cumbria and Lancashire do have some of the best drivers roads which is good as they deliver you to some of the UKs best pubs quicker too....shame all the tech adds weight to the GT3 as I find on B roads weight is the enemy no matter what the tech.

My 991 GT3 will never see a track....I and many others view it as the ultimate road car having removed any 'indiosyncracies' of the 997 for this use but many will no doubt disagree.....
