Anyone out there got track cover included in their road policy? I know a lot of the Porsche guys have it with Manning, but anyone got a decent deal for a Caterham. Looking to try get a road policy with no (or minimal) additional premium for each track day.

Try need to insure - they do a policy that include 5 trackdays (think the track excess is 10% of vehicle value)

I have 6 track days included with my policy. Competition Car Insurance. Policy was about £300 if I remember correctly.

REIS include 3 or 4 trackdays as an alternative to windscreen cover

We've got 6 trackdays in UK and 4 trackdays on the continent with Competition Insurance and due to our age, the premium for full-comp replacement value is £227 with £250 excess and windscreen NCB cover.

I've been quoted £591 to cover a '14 Supersport for 5k miles pa, garaged in Manchester, SD&P only which includes 6 trackdays. I had a small bump just after Christmas my fault, which greatly affected the premium and since I got the quote have received a further 3 points! Pah!

I'm going to perhaps be looking for recommendations for a policy from the Seven cognescenti. I'm an L7C member so may be able to take advantage of the discounts available to members.

This was with Henderson Taylor Insurance Consultants underwritten by Aviva.

I've ended up giving up on the track day cover aspect (haven't had it in a decade of doing track days, was really a nice to have, not an essential)....ended up with Flux, all others were a bit ridiculous for a couple of thousand miles.

Greig,

Did you port any NCD over to your Flux policy to get a discount?

They don't give NCD on those policies, however they did use the fact I've got full NCD on another car as part of the pricing calculation - I have to prove the NCD as part of the policy.

Understood, so effectively the discount is mirrored.

I've just insured my '14 Supersport for £25K value, £264.15 with KGM Insurance through Lloyd & Whyte Insurance Brokers upon Caterham Midlands recommendation. Honestly this was drastically cheaper than anybody else. I insured it in the end for 3k miles pa (cover can be further purchased if I am going to breach 3k miles and need it), with £150.00 ADFT XS, £90.00 WS XS, £1000 Trackday XS. 5 recognised trackdays including 2 European days (excl. nurburgring) are included. It was £240.00 without trackday cover.

This is based on me only driving, 43 year old, M postcode, garaged, 1 minor fault bump in last 3 years ( frown ), 2 x 3 points for...ahem...speeding.

I dealt with a nice young fella, William. smile

I'm with Greenlight. I paid around £260. 29 years old, full no claims. Not particularly cheap but they are very helpful and they're one of the few companies who will insure my other half (who's 23) on the car, where as most simply block under 25 year olds all together.

They charge £45 per trackday for insurance but won't cover Castle Combe or the Nurburgring.
