I keep meaning to ask - When I drive from Shorpe to Rotherham, I pass Junction 3 of the M18. Just before that (on the left) and just before you pass over the railway line, it looks like a rail bridge has been built - except it's not over any rails.

Can anyone shed any light as to what this is as I've watched it be constructed over a period of months and since it's on a motorway, I can't stop and stare...

Thanks

JTW

Thanks - That makes sense - Didn't know about that.

The bridge, however, is still a mystery as it's not on that diagram...

There's also a plan to widen the motorway in that area, but that's not due to start until the 20th of this month. Maybe some prep. for that ?

I didn't know that either - it's odd as it looks like a railway bridge, but the line is about 300 yards away.

Unless it's built to then place over the line as a completed project?

There is a concrete tunnel that is yet to be covered which looks like it will form the subway for the public footpath for Rossington to Bessacarr. Its before the railway line as you head west.

That might be it - It's placement is a bit odd, but the route (I've looked it up on Google Maps) looks likely.

Thanks smile
