Sonic boom over Peterborough?
Discussion
I heard this in a carpark, felt like it wobbled my car (stationary)
Pilot could be in trouble if this is anything to go by: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2579977/Da...
I thought it was cool though.

I recall that when I was a child (a handful of years ago
) we were living on Lake Garda, quite close to Ghedi Air Force Base in northern Italy which was home of the Italian 6th Wing operating the F-104 and Tornados.
As we were on a slightly elevated position it happened quite often to see the planes flying over the lake straight from the side (and sometimes even from the above...).
It seems that back then regulations were far less tight and sonic bangs were not unusual.
I think it is one of those sounds that really gets into your body, absolutely fantastic!

I was on the phone to my work who are based at Peterborough a minute after it'd happened so there was quite a commotion going on.
Last time I heard one I was in Newquay and it was Concord slowing down for the Irish channel about 20 years ago...lovely double boom.

k me that was loud!
If the Police were too deaf to have heard it for themselves, how would they be able to hear a person on a telephone?
