1999' Subaru Impreza UK Turbo 2000

Hi guys, new member here but long time stalker .

I recently bought myself a lowish-milage Impreza UK Turbo 2000, 70400 miles on the clock and is near completely standard other than an OMP race wheel and Mono gear knob fitted by the previous owner and I've had Tein lowering springs (with geometry setup) and crystal front side lights fitted. This is the way she will be staying because I believe a car like this is becoming harder to find in this sort of standard condition. I plan to get the front and rear bumpers resprayed and a few dings taken out too. This car has been owned by several PH'ers and one of them was called Fesuvious.

Cheers guys Thankfully lots of storage space on the farm to keep this tucked away.

This is the first aftermarket race wheel I've used and at first it felt very odd because as it is a dished shape, it felt really close to me but I soon got used to it and I can see the benefits of having one. Plus I don't think it looks too out of place either so it'll be staying . A standard mono wheel can be sourced off eBay for about £50 anyway so no hassle if I wanted to switch.

I've got the same wheel in my RB5, it suits it well. The standard one looks ok but just feels far too big, much better to drive with this size (330mm I think it is)

I'm torn between one of these and an E36 328 at the moment, with good examples of both being hard to find.

Are these still quick compared to modern hot hatches?

Yes they are quick. The 1998 to 2000 models (slight facelift and 'phase 2 boxer engine') have 215bhp standard and weigh 1250kg. 0-60 in 5.8 seconds, not to mention AWD and the awesome handling they have. I've come from a FWD slightly modded Astra VXR and do not regret selling it for the Subaru at all. I'm converted and want an Impreza Type R STI now .
