Paid a deposit now need to sort my insurance out.
I'm 50 plus (only just)and have never had a high performance car!!!

Have done the normal compare sites and got some cheapish quotes, however I know not all companies are that great to deal with when it counts.

Most reputable company Aviva quote was £1107 with an option for guaranteed valuation for a further £132, a number decline to quote understandable I guess given my lack of experience.

I would welcome recommendations for companies from those that may have faced a similar dilemma.

Thanks

Try Manning UK, they have a porsche scheme and I have had my GT3 insured with them since i bought it 4 years ago. Quote for renewal this year is less than 600 including track day cover.

Hi Luke,

Congratulations on your purchase I noticed that you had been searching for a while! I'm sure you will love it smile

I insured mine last year at the age of 40 with Admiral on a multi-car policy, also adding my wife brought the premium down to just over £300!

Mine is garaged, 3k miles per annum and I have over 20 years of no claims.

The total premium for the wife and I for 2 cars works out at £740 which includes the usual stuff like breakdown cover, legal fees, protected no claims etc.

Worth giving them a call!

Thanks,

That was a great deal; have had 2 reasonable quotes through Mannings.

£700 without tracker Aviva and £481 with tracker activated through Alliance (I think that's how its spelt. Haven't tried the multi car policy option yet always worried if wife had a claim it might affect my bonus?

Congratulations on your purchase! Brands offer still applies! My insurance is also through Manning but the underwriter is Amlin UK. Premium is £790 to include business use, 5,000 miles pa, and unlimited track days driving

Congratulations, you'll enjoy it.

Try Classicline Insurance, about £650 for me, agreed value & includes track days, though I've not used it on track yet!

Iainf,

Thanks for congratulation and I will hold you to Brands, after all I wouldn't want to use mine!

Odd thing my wife works for Amlin but they stopped taking new business on individual cars this year and only do fleets now.
Wife was always getting praise for their service great shame it's stopping we have been insured through them for the last 20 years.

Just waiting for OK and weather to pick it up As I said in my email would have liked greater spec but you can wait forever mileage and owners were right with the 2 year warranty.

Do you know how much Porsche charge to activate the tracker system?

Thanks looking forward to it with some trepidation not least because it has a new set of Cup tyres and I've been told to take it easy if I get caught out in the wet! Nothing like inspiring confidence.

Did try the classic insurance route but was told the cars not old enough? Until I get 3000 miles and 12 month under my belt I do not qualify for the Mannings Porsche scheme so may be next year.

Try Competition Car Insurance (underwritten by Aviva and 5 free trackdays covered). I'm 35 and pay half the amounts quoted above with all mods declared.

I've got a 2007 insured with them, I dealt with Megan who has always been helpful & efficient. Also, because I have a company car i don't have any NCD which actually made no difference with their policy.

Do post up some pictures when you've collected it!
