Hi from a newbie - with some pics of my humble collection...

Hi all,
Thought I’d say hi. Been a member on the forum for a while now but as you can see from my MASSIVE post count I don’t do much other than read what everyone else is saying! Thought it time to pop my head in properly.
Have a small collection of around 10 watches, mostly what I would call ‘high street’ watches, the type of watch I used to love until I read a little bit more into this new passion, makes such as Armani and Boss etc.....
I now find myself with a massive fondness of 70’s diving watches and can see the collection being changed in direction over the course of the next few years, as well as growing obviously....
The watches I have currently are; (apologies for photo quality)
SEIKO 6139-6002 ('Pogue Chronograph') - This watch was a present from my mum to my dad on their wedding day in 1972, which was also his 21st birthday. She had saved up for months and bought it though a catalogue paying a pound or two a week. I received it as a present from my Dad on my wedding day in 2005, which was also my birthday. 32nd not 21st though - It now sites on a custom leather nato strap and is obviously very special to me given the history that we both wore it on our wedding days.

2013 Rolex Submariner Date 116610 LN

Emporio Armani, purchased in Italy when ski-ing in 1998 (model AR0505)

Emporio Armani (model AR5824)

Emporio Armani (model AR0528)

Hugo Boss (model 1512066)

TW Steel = (model CE1019)

Emporio Armani (model AR0206)

Emporio Armani (model AR0264)

The two I would add tomorrow if the 6 lucky numbers would come my way are an Omega PloProf (can’t make my mind up over a 600 or 1200???) and a Jacky Ickx Easy Rider Chrono. I will continue saving!!
Thanks for taking the time to read, I wish you all well
Cheers
Ken

great story on the first watch with a real sentimental value; my Dad has always had s
t watches (so no idea where i get it from!) so i don't have any similar tales.
the second ticks most of the remaining boxes for the best 'one size fits all' but i'm sure some smart arse will say you should have bought something else or only bought it for the 'badge'. regardless of that it's a great watch anyway.
as for the rest they all meant something when you bought them and whilst being fashion watches most are certainly handsome enough pieces based on more expensive watches; Boss & Armani rarely try to reinvent the wheel with watch designs nad use tried and tested details to almost homage the originals. hopefully you'll get the others you crave in due course, good luck in getting there; by which time the list will be a lot longer!
