Has anyone else been watching this documentary series on BBC4?

The CS Mackay-Bennett

What a brilliant series, and for people who miss proper story telling in documentaries, it's a great return imo. No stupid jump cuts, just letting people tell the story in their own time, and beautifully filmed too. Tonight's story on the Cable Ship Mackay-Bennett was also moving in equal measure.

Fab, lets have more of this sort of thing BBC ;-)

Just watched the Mackay Bennett one. Incredible to think they recovered severed telecommunication cables from the bed of the Atlantic by basically just groping around with a grappling hook. The story of the little lad who perished on the Titanic was quite moving as well. Must go now , got something in my eye......

Quick heads up, for the final part of this series tonight on BBC4 at 8pm, covering HMS Hood, which could be rather good ! ;-)

Seen the his hood one before, full series was excellent. The level of engineering that went into it was amazing

A fave series of mine, David Hayman does a great job and really set the tone and feel of each episode imo.
