Can anyone tell me if this is true in long digital exposures or is it restrited to film?

if yr talkin bout wot i think u are, digital exposuers can go up to 15 sec on the compacts, film can last as long as u want it to last.

It is true to long exposures. I used to do a lot of night photography, and had to compensate for the reseprosity error. A lot of the time though, its trial and error.
Not sure whether irs just on film or not.

I don't believe digital is affected by this.

it doesn't affect digital at all, and as far as I know only slide film suffers from it

It is an effect caused by the emulsion used with film, so it is a factor for all types of film to some extent. The standard CMOS sensors used in most digital cameras are not effected by it. I don't know about other types of sensors like the Foveon used by Sigma, though I doubt it.
