Cayenne First Service Cost

Just called my local Porsche dealer for a first service price on a Cayenne 3.0 Diesel.

Car is 18 months old and approx 20k miles.

I was quoted £420 inc Vat.

When I asked what it entailed, he said an oil change and a thorough check over the car. Sounded a bit steep so i asked about discount and he immediately offered 10%, so £378.

Just interested if this is the going rate. A lot for an oil change, but i guess they know you need that stamp in the service book!!

i typically will ask to provide my own oil (2 x 5L bottles from costco for 56 quid) - further savings of about 100 quid from OPC service pricing.. so far, they have been able to accomodate that for my cayman

I admit that in the grand scheme of the price of the Cayenne the service isn't expensive. It's just that the service dept said its just an oil change plus inspection which then made it sound expensive!

Still, it's a great car, not missed a beat and a pleasure to own and drive.

It was just in jest. I've even bought part worn tyres off eBay for mine..

Me too, Diesel S, 20k miles, 9 months, £420. See Cayenne Diesel thread for more chat. Asked for discount, was told I could have £15 off if I didn't want the one litre Mobil One top up. A lot of money for an oil change (I did one myself anyway at 10k miles), and a stamp in the book. They also did some coding/upgrades and broke the N/S mirror drop on reverse.

Disagree, £420 to keep the warranty intact seems like a good deal to me?

That's only £210 per year, my daughters Kia has to have an annual service and it has cost that!

Why should you have to pay more (than the job is worth) to keep the warranty intact?

OTOH, in another thread a former Porsche owner has been comparing how crap Mercedes are to deal with vs Porsche. Paying extra for a better "experience" is a more valid argument.

Compared to the cost of a 25hr oil change on an R44, it's a good deal !
