Car-specific tyres

I want to buy some tyres in 235x35 R18 to go on my Impreza P1. This is a bit of an odd size but 18" wheels and this size tyres were an OE option from new.

There aren't that many tyres available in this size - Goodyear Eagle F1 probably would be my first choice against Hankook and Toyo prada's. BUT, I see that the Eagle F1 Assy 2 is available in the size - except it says "Audi Car Tyre".

Why would this be the case? Would there be a problem in using these tyres on a much lighter car? Why would a tyre be car specific?

OE's like to make sure the tyres work with their cars.

Sometimes this is no changes other than the stamp.

More often there are small changes, usually to do with NVH qualities.

Sometimes there are larger compound changes to change grip, but these are usually higher end tyres, such as N rated (porsche), K (Ferrari) etc

From what I understand it's what Audi's use, not specific to them. I think, as long as the size is correct, you should be fine. I'd worry more about the size. Probably a sponsership type thing, Audi's use Tyre X.
