Photos of 1600M chassis...
Discussion
Hi!
One of the former owners of my car
did strange alterations to the chassis in the area of the diff.
Now I would like to rebuild the chassis to the
original condition and would need some photos of the
position of the diff carrier. Can't find anything in www.
Furthermore I would be happy about a photo of the mounting
of a 5 speed gearbox at this car.
I would like to mount one and have to alter the rear mounting.

Hi Adrian
The problem is that someone who restored the chassis
altered it (accidentally I think). So the mounts for
the diff carrier were at the wrong place after.
Instead of altering the chassis back, he altered the
diff carrier.
Sad but true!
And now I would like to see how the diff carrier is
placed to the chassis, because I think mine is crooked.

IMHO, it is impossible that someone would change the chassis...well almost, as the top wishbone and the differential chassis lug is one and the same extended through one round tube welded to both the extensions out to the top shock and or the seat belt pickup points. and ALL the cars have frames of one sort or another that pick on them.
I am sure some one will be along with a picture or two (maybe the previous thread from chassyman might help as that is as is, granted that, that is a early none Jag version, as they have a square tube with stabiliser lugs across/under the rear of the chassis) .

Here you can see what it is. I am sure some one will be along with a picture or two (maybe the previous thread from chassyman might help as that is as is, granted that, that is a early none Jag version, as they have a square tube with stabiliser lugs across/under the rear of the chassis) .

This specialist turned the lugs. So now the upper wishbone is fixed in the
lower hole of the lugs and the upper hole was useless.
When he noticed his mistake (so my theory), he welded some arms upon the diff carrier
to connect it to the upper lug holes (it's a bit difficult to see in the photo).
On this photo you can see how crocked the carrier is hanging in there.
This is the reason I would like to get a photo to see the exact position of the carrier.
Thanks for the photos, but the 3000M carier is very different to mine.
