Bruntingthorpe has recently installed a custom sprinklered area for use as a skidpan. We''ll have an instrutor along to give guidence on the theory and practice of understanding and controling oversteer and understeer which should be perfect in time for the Winter.

At the same time we have the ever popular Mini Millbrook to play around on and we'll where we'll have a competition for the best time again.

Cost is £35 per car regardless of number of drivers.

The VX220 forum are having a day there in a week or so, unfortunately I can't attend as I won't be getting my VX until the day after!

I don't know much about it but if people here were interested in doing something similar, I'd be up for organising it.

Any people interested?

If the weather is the same as Sunday before last on Ultimate Saab Day - never mind installing the sprinklers then .

I need to find out more details but it seems it £35 will cover the cost of an instructor too, both areas available for the whole day too.

Drop by anyway - you don't need to have a VX to come along...

Not much point getting used to it in my ZR, when it'll be the last day I drive it pretty much!

The event on the 11th will be the very first time Bruntingthorpe have used this facility, as such I'm waiting to hear how it goes, in terms of numbers, organisation etc.

Once I know how that went I'll contact Bruntingthorpe and get a provisional date sorted, either late December or early January.

I doubt we'd have full use of the runway, given how much vmax costs, but this does include use of "Mini Millbrook" - I'm trying to find out more details of that.

Hey Mucnher et al,

I would be well up for a day like that, I go there fairly often testing the Loughborough University formula student car and its so tempting to go out on track in all the transport cars we take!! Needless to say, we don't......

I would love to learn how to control (or not!) my battered old MGB GT, should be very enjoyable!
35 quid for a day of laughter sounds awesome to me, would be my first "meet"/"trackday" aswell. Can't think of a better introduction to be honest!

Cheers, hope all goes well with organisation

Assuming I can arrange it the same as the VX day; a few more details...

Skid pan is a sprinklered figure of eight arrangement, with 2 different types of concrete, for different handling characteristics.

The Mini Millbrook they are referring to, I think is actually within Bruntingthorpe, they may mean the track that the caterham boys normally use. Apparently there's plenty of run off and nothing to hit, one car round at a time, so no need for trackday insurance.

First lap on the skidpan will be with an instructor. First lap round the circuit won't be timed, but the rest will be

50 people are going to the VX day on saturday, I'll find out how they coped with that and may even go along to watch.

Hello! I'm also at Loughborough too. Live in the same place as Rob. In fact, if I bang on the wall he'll pop in and say hello too. Nice selection of cars there by the way. If I had a garage with those in I'd have a nightmare making a selection every time I left the house!

Edited to make more sense (hopefully )

You have some awesome cars but my pick of the bunch is the B8, what a machine! I will have to get one as soon as funds allow, what colour and shape have you got? If its a touring i'll be even more amazed!!

Cu at the track soon I hope! (which car would you bring? !!)

The b8 is a cracking little car, and is the coupe.

I heard that loughborough has some serious car theft- could you guys give me more info on this?
