Original issued Omega WWW with a serial# dating it to '44.

I rarely wear it, so this may well be its last outing.

Dunno about a watch but I have an idea for a clock...

Bought this to wear during my bowel surgery 3 weeks ago, then raffled it off to raise funds for 3 wards i've spent time on since last October. Raised £2100 in the end. (yes i'm ex-RM)

Why not?

Plenty of allied servicemen wore, shall we say, 'liberated' German watches.

As such, yesterday I was wearing my Tutima 1941 Fliegerchronograph Replika with A2 flying jacket.

This is my daily; my grandfather's 1951 Helvetia:

He served in both world wars from Mons on (including the White Russian campaign), and bought the watch while posted to the International Refugee Organisation after the war, ensuring the millions of displaced people returned home. He was from the generation that did not talk about their activities, but we think he was working on signal intelligence for Operation Fortitude during the summer of 44. This was a fake army to make the Germans think Normandy was a diversion to draw troops away from Calais and so allow the 'real' invasion to take place there.
