help with Cayenne Sat Nav
Discussion
I have just aquired a 2004 V6 Porsche Cayenne which looks lovely, it would be nice if I could make the Sat Nav work. I have one European disc which does not load with only the first bar showing as loaded. I haven't called my local Porsche dealer yet as I have spent all my pocket money. I'm sure that someone has already been through this process. I am reluctant at this stage to start buying CDs from E Bay unless I know what to buy. I do have a couple of sticky on Sat Navs but am reluctant to add stick on bits. Any advise would be much appreciated
I'm sure you've already done this, but have you checked the CD is in the right way?
If that isn't the problem, when I had this problem I ripped my original disk, in my case a DVD (you do this by creating an iso file, many free tools and google guides) and burned it onto a new disk.
I think the original disk was not quite readable in the car DVD, but the new disk worked very well. Given that the CD or DVD sits in the reader for years, it's probably not too surprising that it eventually fails.
When you sell the car make sure you have the original disk - and mark the one you've created as a backup.
For the future, I will always copy the disk first and only use the backup disk!
Good luck.
