I like that, but i think mainly because of how clever the marketing is. If VAG create a bitter rivalry between the 2 brands, they guarantee lots of coverage, people taking sides, etc etc.

By not being over the top with it, they get to maintain brand values and noone loses too much face if they come second.

Unless toyota win, of course
