Correct method of powder coating alloy wheels
Discussion
Anyone know the correct way to powder coat alloy wheels.
There seems to be a lot of talk of wheels failing after being powder coated, either due to the preparation or the temperature the coating is baked at.
What questions do you need to ask the coater before you let them loose on your wheels ?

Unless a powder coater has an XRF to know the exact chemical composition of your wheels, then there can't be a lot of blame laid at them. They will have "one temp fits all settings" for baking, which may cause failures in some instances. Unfortunately creep in metals can occur at temps much, much lower than melting points, this is what causes failures.
