Right had a misfire for a while, which is now driving me nuts now!

Symptoms - slight misfire (occasional backfire) around 4k revs, sometimes there sometimes fine, more frequent with miles ie over 30 odd. It had fault code 88 possible purge valve so blocked off plenum pipe thinking it was letting air all the time, misfire still there. checked timing and advances up ok. Reset the ecu fault codes gone

I changed all the top end ignition ie coil, leads, amp, plugs, cap (crap fit), rotor etc as all looked original and probably well past their sell by date. This seems to have made things more pronounced with lots of pops and bangs on acceleration and misfire creeps down the rev range till finally running 6/7 cylinders.

Checked the plug extenders all showing 4.6-4.9 ohms so seem ok??

Read on here and elsewhere re distributor pick up problems should be 6 ohms I've got 3.9, is this it???

Ps I've got rovergauge from you blitz but wont run as asking for a driver, I am I right in thinking I need a 64 bit driver for Win 7 pro??

Cheers in advance

Theres a driver on the disk I ship with it that runs on both 32 and 64 bit.

Heres the link to the download if you want it.

Select the VCP driver.
