I see similar out and about quite often (I live not far from Greengates where this is regular). The kids are very skilled on the bikes, but not street smart with traffic. In winter they often appear out of nowhere across grass, unlit, in the dark, cutting across streams of traffic. It's very unfair on the poor sods who end up colliding with them and watch them being scraped up by the paramedics.
A few weeks ago heading from Yeadon to Apperley Bridge I was confronted with a race quad on its back wheels doing 40mph or so in a long wheely. He wasn't in proper directional control and I was bracing for him coking through the windscreen.

I'm from Apperley bridge way and I'm pretty sure that this is around Greengates - the petrol station looks like the one near Calverley. See them regular too and the quads like you mentioned - admittedly they can control the bikes well but on built up streets it doesn't take much to end nasty.A few weeks ago heading from Yeadon to Apperley Bridge I was confronted with a race quad on its back wheels doing 40mph or so in a long wheely.
