i recently changed my turbo to a recon unit along with oil feed pipe, egr cleaned out, map and maf sensor changed the car still has a small whistle sound, i get black smoke when i put my foot down and also i feel the turbo doesnt kick in early enough compared to my previous a4 1.9 tdi. any suggestion? i have also changed the lower 2 intercooler pipe. I have already spent so much money on the car, cant afford to throw in much more only not to get the problem sorted. any help/ suggestion will be appriciated.
thanks

What was the reason for changing the turbo?
Was the vehicle running without issue before?

I originally chaged turbo due to lack of power, car constantly going on limp while putting my foot down. Had to turn off and start engine again to get it running. Had the vacuum
soilnoid box tested and aparently it was fine. The mechanic advised me the turbo needs changing/ recon.
How would i test, check the maf? Already changed it to a bosch from
Ecp. Thanks

Smoke, whistling and a lack of boost would lead me to check all the hoses. Bear in mind that a lazy mechanic might not pick a split hose up as they often don't 'open up' when the engine isn't under load so just sitting there, revving the car won't replicate real driving.

How would i check for split hoses, how much you reckon it cost to chase all the vacuum hoses just to eliminate the possibility of a split hose? Sorry, but on a tight budget. Some one advise me to change EGR and throttle body/ manifold flap.
