Hi,

My TVR is currently undergoing a chassis refurbishment and is nearing the end of this process. All seems well only the engine believes it is a four cylinder as the right bank is not joining in. The cylinders receive fuel, the injectors seem to be working and the sparkplugs spark. The left bank works and the exhaust manifold gets warm if run, though the right side remains as cold as it was. We are rather clueless. What are we missing?

Tested so far:
- Other ECU
- Both banks note a decent 4.4 Ohms on the injectors
- Sparkplugs changed
- Switched Lambda sensors (crossing over the leads)

All was in working order when the car entered the garage ages ago; though everything has been disconnected and now reconnected.

Cheers!

I'd be checking the injector +12v feed on that side - why do you think the injectors are working?

We do not know if the injectors are working properly, though there is fuel in the cylinders. Will check the leads next time.

The +ve is common and will be traceable back to one of the relay pair on the flying leads in the footwell (which is why I suggest starting there) - the -ves are switched by the ECU. Next thing to check

The relays are for both banks aren`t they? So might there be a wiring issue on that side? The ECU has been swapped for a Rangie one and that had the same effect. Numbers 11 and 13 score a correct resistance value on the ECU plug when tested.

When testing today with the injectors on the right side unconnected one of the relays started crying. That stopped when the injectors were reconnected again.

One relay provides power for the injectors (both sides), the other for the pump. The tails off to the injectors are crimped onto the main lead and the crimps do corrode
