Ford mondeo juddering issue (being a woman I need advice)

Hi. I have a ford mondeo 2001 with 160 000 miles on the clock. Two years ago it developed a juddering. As if it lacks power in certain gears. If for instance I go around a roundabout and go from a lower gear to higher gear in order to accelerate, it seems to judder and struggle to go. Now I've taken it to a garage (independent) where diagnostics showed nothing. The fuel injectors were changed. Initially it works and it's ok, but as time went it started doing that again. So decided to take it to ford thinking that they might know more. They said it's the valve seals that needed replacing so done that and again, at first it seems fine but again as time passed the juddering slowly but surely started up again. Sort of given up on thinking what to do. Any ideas on what this could be?
coil pack is most likely.
or, as was the case with mine, one of the leads that goes to the coil pack (then thin supply ones) insulation was frayed, only came to light when my mechanic mate was investigating the issue and having changed the coil pack and the fault was still there he was leaning on the coil pack to get a better view of the engine bay and it made the engine pick up!

Surely this will have been caused by pulling the choke out to have somewhere handy to hang the handbag?
(only joking. I have male friends who are just as likely to do that. Including the handbag)
But I digress. It's a 13 year old Mondeo with an awful lot of miles, and is likely only worth a few hundred quid more than scrap value. If it doesn't have any emotional value, cut your losses, put any money you were going to spend on the garage into a savings account and get something better when you can; it'll be cheaper than chasing a non-specific fault.
As to the fault, it could be a lot of things. My guess is that the engine is a bit tired and the torque is lacking at low revs. You can adapt your driving style a bit (holding on to gears a bit longer when accelerating - change up from 2nd at 25mph rather than 20mph, 35mph for 3rd rather than 30mph, and so on) which might help a bit.
