Clio V6 Image - Yes/No?

What's everyones view of the Clio V6?
1. OTT Boyracer car most people don't really understand and will probably point and laugh at...
2. A very unusual and interesting hot hatch that will almost certainly increase in value
3. Renault sort of lost their way.....Could have been so much better
4. Other

I find it a fascinating car....I think it is partly based from my boy racer tendencies I had when I was 17/21+ making a return (I am now 36) and also the fact it is such a rare car...
Although I am always interested when some people consider it as a chavved up clio - until they take a closer look and ask where the rear seats are! :-)

I mentioned in the Chris Harris topic that surely this car will appreciate. In Mk2 guise it's a genuinely decent car, on top of being unique and rare. I really don't understand why the are so cheap.
Would love one in Lunar Grey (13 made) or Liquid Yellow (43 made).

I think it's one I appreciate, because I know what it is....
But to the rest of the world, pulling up behind a Renault with a V6 sticker on the back and HUGE body kit will just get someone questioning "Why would you want to modify your Clio to look like that!?" ...... until it pulls away of course

Only 4 Lunars made (In the UK, I see you put the worldwide figures), I've been keeping my eye out for one for years.I mentioned in the Chris Harris topic that surely this car will appreciate. As for the image thing, anyone who thinks other than 2 is either not interested in cars or they have the whole French hate thing going on.
I sold my Illiad Phase 2 just before Christmas to fund a house move. It absolutely killed me having to do so, but I will definitely get another. It's not the fastest, nor the best handling car (my current Mini GP would lose one in about 3 corners), but for sense of occasion and 'specialness' there's not much that beats it in my eyes.
I got stopped at most petrol stations by people to ask what it was, or how good it is, or did I put the bodykit on myself.
The V6 forum is also one of the most knowledgeable I have come across, and many of the cars are known, so you can be confident about what you are actually buying.
My only worry is that the values are going to just go up and up and I'll have to save up for longer to get one. We have the cheapest V6's in Europe and some get bought up over here and exported (I think my old one is going to end up in Spain when the owner moves back there).
If I had the spare cash I'd buy a low mileage Phase 1, preferably in Mars Red or Illiad Blue if you can find one, and bring it out just for sunday drives
ETA - if anyone sees a dark blue one (darker than the one you normally associate with a V6) or an orange one driving round, please stop them and point them to the V6 forum. They are the rare ones which, almost bizarrely, have never found their way into the club

Whilst overall I would say it was definately unusual, more interesting than a normal Clio and probably has enough followers to make it appreciate...
... It is a 1) in the vast majority of road users' eyes.
I'm no fan of French cars in general and have no personal interest in hot hatches so it would be a long way down my personal list of things I might do with that money.
If it is your sort of car though, sod what everyone else thinks of them and go for it. Having interesting cars at this price point rarely overlaps with having "cool" or fashionable cars in the wider public's eyes.

The Clio V6 is one of the prettiest hot hatches ever made. A great engine noise and fun to corner with. A classic of its time. But to most non-car fanatics, it looks like a chavved-up bean-can with a downmarket badge. Which is a shame, because they still have cool presence and a decent turn of speed.
