Protech vs Nitrons
Discussion
I currently have protechs fitted and they are miles better than the original worn out suspension, but the car still has a vagueness from the front end. I'm planning on getting a full geo-setup at the next service but I'm wondering if i'd be better off putting the money towards a set of nitrons. Are they that much better than the protechs or should i just stick with a geo setup?
cheers

TangsooTim has Protechs on his cerb as do I on my T350 and both cars drive like they are on rails. Just get them setup correctly and job done. We both went to Centre of Gravity. No one better IMO at suspension as it's all they do cheers

you could buy Nitrons and be in the same position, as it's mainly about setup.MackemPete said:

My 4.5 runs old avos on the front and GGP on the rear. It was horrid to drive until i had it geo'ed. Now it sails over bumps and drives great and that is with what many consider lower end shocks. A correct geo is worth more than any shock upgrade for handling and stability.

sold, cheers gents. Thats saved me a few quid. Thanks for the center gravity recommendation but its a little far for me. I'm aiming for a service at raceproved or RTracing as these are close enough and have a good rep. I believe they both have experience of track prepping cars so i'll get them to do the geo while they are on.

Nitrons on my old car.
Surprisingly smooth yet very supportive over jiggly old country lanes, whereas some other's would leave you feeling Mike Tyson had been battering your kidneys.
The 911/996 Carrera 4 std suspension was far harsher than the Nitrons on the Cerbera.
Tirus I have no complaints about the compliance of my current setup, its just a bit wafty and uncommunicative from the front end. Doesn't encourage you to push on if u know what I mean. I'd probably swap wafty for crashy if it gave me more feel. Car is only ever going to be a second fun car so enjoyment takes precedence over comfort.Surprisingly smooth yet very supportive over jiggly old country lanes, whereas some other's would leave you feeling Mike Tyson had been battering your kidneys.

Quite surprised hat you don't mention what you've set your ProTechs at ?
When I fitted mine I set them at 4-in all round. This felt smooth everywhere and gave good compliance in fast, smooth corners.
However I pooed my pants one time on a motorway which had the steel, serrated, bridge teeth in it.
Messed around a little more and eventually settled on 8 clicks in, from fully-soft, all round.
