Hello
I know its hard to give a answer on this but hoping someone could give me and idea of how much a trip will cost me.
Bolton to Newquay
333 Miles one way
In an Hyundai i30 se 1.4 petrol
Thanks
Depends how fast you go and what traffic you hit. I would guess if you were driving slowly you could get at least 45-55mpg so you would need between 6 and 7.5 gallons of fuel or approx £35-£45 worth. You could save more if you sat at 56mph following trucks when the roads were quiet or add a bit more if you were v max all the way. I know its hard to give a answer on this but hoping someone could give me and idea of how much a trip will cost me.

We took my g/f's Ka to Brighton rather than the Jag, as while the Jag was more comfy, the economy for that kind of run is awful.
Anyway, 304 miles each way, 1.3 engine, used £33 down (we split the driving), £40 on the way back (I drove)
I think the thing that'll screw you with Newquay is the A30 if the traffic builds up

I did Bury to Newquay in a Mini 1000 in 7 hours in '93... Didn't use a full tank (7.5 gallons, £15 to fill from fumes back then) but not far off - be interesting to see how much the OP uses and what it costs in a modern
.
Said Mini gave 70mpg at a steady 55mph on motorways/A-roads after an engine change, but I was relatively pressing on on this trip with 50-ish mpg from the original engine (which ain't bad - 50mph plus 50mpg averages
)...
More recently, I got 47mpg from a 309SR 1600 in similar holiday touring 2 years ago, and 66mpg from a Jazz 1200 "taking it very easy" across France in 2008
so I think I have a vague clue as to how to drive economically
