Brake master cylinder, nipple?
Discussion
I renewed the fluid in my brake system last weekend and have bled the brakes twice.
The peddle still pumps up slightly while driving although it is rock hard with the engine turned off.
Question; Is there a bleed nipple on the master cylinder like there is on some other cars?
Of course I could look but............life's never that easy!

Sooo, through the clutch cover?
Yep very difficult. I used a 1/4 inch socket set, but wrench not fully in the socket other wise the socket is not on the nut part of the nipple. Took me best part of an hour to undo, bleed and do up. made all the difference though so well worth the incredible hassel. One of those jobs the tvr could have made much easier.I go through some trials and tribulations with my car but that sounds like a nightmare Peter.
I like the drilled hole idea!
I've no idea how I got away with not bleeding my master Cyl, it was almost empty!
I did suck two litres through the system with a vacum pump, completely over the top but it seems to be working.
I've replaced with 5.1 dot. No real need but it makes me happy.
The race spec fluid, couldn't be that could it!!!??
Surely not.
Best of luck Peter.

Wrap some cotton wool around the nipples you have bled so you can see if they are weeping when stressed. There can be a lot of problems with gorillas wrenching bleed nipples so they aren't conical as designed more like pyramids.... maybe macho TVR ownership or the fact they get the brakes bled far more often than the bi-annual disposable euro-box?
I always try & think that if a nipple really needs tweaking hard to stop the weeping that it needs changing for a new one before the next bleed... (some naughty innuendo there eh?)

Yes cylinder is in two parts, 2 connections near front of car goto front calipers, rear 2 one is blanked off (bleed niple) the other goes to rear valve by diff.
Strangely enough 1 bias limiter valve split into 2 on later cars and 2 seperate on earlier solid rear disc cars
I only got round to this today.
What a pita!
Drilled a 10 mm hole next to the reservoir, popped an 11mm long socket on the nipple and used a wiggle extension through the 10mm hole.
I could just crack it off with a short tommy bar as the nipple was that tight!!!
All done and peddle feels rock hard with and without engine running so job done
