New addition to the Aston family
Discussion
Guys,
Finally got the deal done on the new DB9V in Midnight that I was so keen on (per my last post) to join the V12V already in the garage. We think we have the best of both worlds now - difficulty is going to be choosing which one to take out!
Picked the car up last Friday from HR Owen, after Francis (Paddy328) had worked solid for 2 1/2 days to get her absolutely top - which he did. Top service and commitment from The Man - highly recommended - he went the extra mile on the Friday morning to turn out to Cheltenham for a 3rd time to make sure I would be 100% happy (he put off an Enzo to finish the 9V - that's commitment!)
Enjoy :-)

One nice tweak that worked out really nicely was HR Owen's suggestion of colour coding the front splitter -IMO much nicer and more 'integrated' than the standard graphite coloured plastic item - here's a close-up:

Nice view of Paddy's handywork as well...and Suntek self healing film went straight on for immediate protection
Specifically didn't go for a carbon replacement as we decided not to take the 9V down that route. Does set it apart a bit more from the V12V (which is going to get stakes and black window surrounds soon). The 'all blue' effect balances nicely with the rear lower splitter as well, which is already body colour from the factory.
Looking forward to a summer of epic Aston driving - 2 European trips booked already!
Cheers,
Andy

LOL It's not too dark yet...in fact it's still really light outside.
Sadly, that's because I'm in Aberdeen 500 miles up the road from home :-( Gotta earn the pennies somehow, though.
I'll get some interior pics and the pair together (they DO look sweet) over the weekend when I get back. BTW the interior is Sandstorm with blue embroidered headrest crests - its's really beautiful - sooo classic and classy.
Joked with the guys in HROwen that they must be putting something naughty in the air con to suspend any sense of normality/sense in your brain when you walk into reception. We only dropped in to pick up the V12V after it's 1st service - saw the 9V under the lights - hood down...my Better Half just fell in love. End result: 6 weeks later (and a lot of haggling) it's on the drive. Happy Days!!
Still can't quite get my mind round it, but hey, (cliche time)...life is too short, so why the hell not!
Thanks for all the compliments - I KNEW the car was a blinder - the spec is absolutely everything we would have chosen (just loving the red calipers) and just a couple of other options I would not have spent money on...but then I got a really good discount on the car way beyond anything I would have achieved with a personal spec build.
Best,
Andy

Is this yet another vehicle funded by the oil industry ??? At least you don't have to go to Korea every other month like some on this forum

Hi Jockman,
LOL - bit obvious, I guess! Pre-recession, nobody Down South ever even really knew about Good Ol' Aberdeen, but I think with all the press & TV exposure over the recent past, it has a higher profile than it used to Country-wide. One of mates that's never even been to Scoitland calls it The LAND of PLENTY - it wont last be it's good while it lasts!
I seem to be making it my mission to ensure that as much Oil money gets re-distributed to Good Causes as possible (hence why we were in the Silver darling last night, followed by "Other Establishement", ending up in the Soul Casino :-)) - so 2 Astons in 13 months seems almost like a Good Idea.
Re the less desirable places in the Oil world, thankfully being The Boss, I dont have to suffer places like Korea or Angola (or offshore N Sea for that matter) much myself - that's what you have staff for, isn't it?
TBH, I've have had withdrawal symptoms the last couple of days and can't wait to get in tonight - nice early flight and the weather is set fair to put in a few miles in the Cotswolds later - or maybe I'll just stop somewhere and gaze at it for a while...the V12 V is quite a sight, but, like some of you guys, I do think the new 9V is a REAL looker - maybe the prettiest car on the market today??
Full photo session planned tomorrow pm, so I'll make sure I get some nice Group shots done.
Best,
Andy

Andy - I know F1 NDW Vanquish Neil has just flown back in from Korea (month on / month off) and he actually runs the entire drilling platform. As Yeti will testify, in some parts of the world it is a dangerous game - armed security from the airport in Nigeria - and many people just walk past a flashing red light on the platform....you know, the one that says "Danger, Explosion imminent".LOL - bit obvious, I guess!
