Seems strange, anyone else heard rumblings of this before? Rolls Royce must be disappointed, thats at least 140 engines no longer needed.

Massive loss for airbus as Emirates have already ordered 150 B777Xs with probably more to follow. Both the 777x and A380 have GE engines.

Airbus say they have 600+ orders for the A350, and are confident they will find buyers for the cancelled Emirates slots.

If so, it doesn't sound so disastrous to me.
