What are your favourite sports cars of the last 50 years?

So, you have the opportunity to own one sports car from each of the following decades: 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s. What would they be?
Here are my choices:
1960s
So many gorgeous sports cars to choose from but hard to beat the brutality and beauty of a Shelby Cobra
1970s
Hard to beat the purity of a pre-impact bumper 911. I think an early 70s 911 hits the sweet spot between pure design, low weight and decent power. I would be perfectly happy with a 911 S but I've heard the 1973 Carrera RS is pretty good! The 911 was definitely a sports car back then, is it still now?
1980s
These are pretty cool
Essex Lotus Esprit Turbo
But for some reason I've always wanted a Ford Capri 280 Brooklands!
1990s
I want to be controversial and choose something FWD like this:
Used to own a mystic blue VR6 with thiose wheels too!
Always wanted a 20v turbo though!
However, this is also 1990s, so has to win for me!
2000s
Didn't realise I liked Mazdas much but really want an R3 RX8 at the moment. It still looks sensational for a 10+ year old design and would still look contemporary if released as a new model. Still a compelling mix of performance, engineering, looks and practicality IMHO.
2010s
Hands down (so far) for me:

1960s

I feel quite honoured by your choices - I own an RX-7 FD and RX-8 R3! 
I think I've missed the beat picking mine, going for supercars over sports cars... Alas, I'd have to say:
1960's
It beautiful, its iconic, its rare and it sounds amazing.
1970's
While its a 60's car, I'd take the early 70's SV version, to me it defines what a supercar should be.
1980's
Probably the best performance car ever made. Easy choice.
1990's
I'm not a fan of American cars but this just does it for me. A massive V10, suitable power, stunning looks. Bonkers.
2000's
I don't know what it is I love so much about these. Probably the stripe!
2010's
The only thing to catch my attention this decade, the looks are spot on and it is great to drive. Its to price too badly either.
EDIT: To actually go with the theme of the thread:
60's: Alfa Sprint GTA
70's: 911
80's: E30 M3
90's: RX-7 - Bias, so I'll also say Chimaera
00's: RX-8 - Bias, so I'll also say VX220
10's: Same as my choice above, Boxster... No need for the same photo!

I agree, that's why I felt I should edit my post with some "sports cars". I'm not sure I'm qualified to judge but I can say for the 90's I'd have that Chimaera and for the 2000s I'd have a Boxster.

Still got 'em too. I'm interested in seeing what the 2010s will bring. Something new quite possibly...NOT a Boxster 981 though, beautiful though it may be...

For the eighties I'd go Ford Capri 2.8 - I still want one now!

Can I not have the GT40, RS200 and Stratos as sports cars. All designed for motorsport.... motorsport is a sport...and they are cars?....
